• Career stage: Early-career scholar (e.g., graduate student, postdoctoral researcher, or within 5–10 years of highest degree)
• Field relevance: Work aligned with the awarding body’s discipline or mission
• Independence: Evidence of developing an independent research or scholarly profile

Evaluation Criteria

Originality and Innovation

• Novel research questions, methods, or theoretical contributions
• Creative or interdisciplinary approaches

Scholarly Impact

• Publications, citations, or creative outputs
• Demonstrated or potential influence on the field, policy, or practice

Quality of Research

• Rigor, methodology, and clarity of argument
• Peer-reviewed work or recognized scholarly outputs

Promise and Trajectory

• Clear potential for future contributions
• Coherent research agenda or long-term vision     

Contribution to the Academic or Professional Community

• Conference presentations, workshops, or invited talks
