  • Field relevance: Work aligned with the awarding body’s discipline or mission
  • Independence: Evidence of developing an independent research or scholarly profile

  • Novel research questions, methods, or theoretical contributions
  • Creative or interdisciplinary approaches

Scholarly Impact

  • Publications, citations, or creative outputs
  • Demonstrated or potential influence on the field, policy, or practice

Quality of Research

  • Rigor, methodology, and clarity of argument
  • Peer-reviewed work or recognized scholarly outputs

Promise and Trajectory

  • Clear potential for future contributions
